[dokuwiki] No ACL setup yet

Hi,
with the recent version of dokuwiki (as well as our current older
version), I get "No ACL setup yet! Denying access to everyone.".
However, the acl.auth.php is correct as per documentation and logging
in works fine, every user is able to view/edit the wiki after login.
So the ACLs basically seem to work, but the error is somewhat annoying.
Users are authenticated via LDAP.
Is there any way to debug or at least narrow down the problem?
