Hi Andi,
Some background: I wanted to make the dialog somewhat useable by people without JavaScript. This means by default there is no toolbar on the edit page - just a link to the media popup . If you have javascript the toolbar overwrites this link, without javascript you can open the manager in a new window for browsing and uploading.
Since you're working with the media manager, I'm interested in knowing, would it be possible to be able to access the media manager as a separate page area, so that users could upload and download from it?
To clarify, its something I've already been doing in my template: http://tatewake.com/wiki/lib/exe/media.php?ns=downloads
But of course I think users would expect to be able to download files directly by clicking links, but right now its not possible because of the javascript calls. So would it be possible to add an extra option such that non-popup versions of the media manager could have the same preview/download option that the links do on normal pages?
I'm not sure if this would be implemented as an extra "ACT" or what, but I'm interested in your thoughts on this.
