[dokuwiki] Re: "Lazy Sunday" RC1 not working with "discussion" plugin ?

I just checked with the latest git head of DokuWiki and the latest git
version of
the plugin itself, which works as expected. I'll probably push a new release 
later today (have to check the issues list first).
Thanks. I've just tried it again with RC2 and the 2009-08-22 discussion release.
This still doesn't show discussion blocks on the page unless I enable "discussion section on every page by default". 

It gets stranger:
1) If I add a comment (when enabled as above) and disable the "discussion section on every page by default" option then the comment block remains on the page. 2) Changing the markup to ~~DISCUSSION:off~~ doesn't make the comment block go away. 3) Changing the markup to ~~DISCUSSION:closed~~ doesn't stop me adding comment.
It seems as if the markup on the page is being ignored - it is accepted as it doesn't get rendered.
Anyone got any ideas where I should be looking? I must be doing something wrong here...
