Hi speakers of right-to-left languages,

Since a few days it's easier for Arabic, Hebrew and Persian languages to be edited on dokuwiki.org.

Something was a bit broken before so that editing RTL languages was probably not the best experience. I was wondering if that was the main reason why we have so few pages in those languages? There are only 4 Arabic [e.g. http://www.dokuwiki.org/ar:dokuwiki], 1 Hebrew [http://www.dokuwiki.org/he:syntax] and no Persian pages. :(

Persian is actually not in the list of translations, so won't work properly yet. As with every new translation, just add your pages under the appropriate namespace (in the case of Persian it's the "fa:" namespace, e.g. http://www.dokuwiki.org/fa:dokuwiki). And as soon as an admin sees pages are being added to a language missing from the translation dropdown, we will add it. The same is true for any other missing language. In the case of RTL languages it will mean that until that switch is done, the DokuWiki UI will still show in English with left-to-right design, etc.

I hope the recent changes will attract more Arabic, Hebrew and Persian speakers and will bring some concealed parts of the community forward.

Cheers,
Anika
