[directmusic] Weird DirectMusic pitch bend issue

I've made a VB .exe interface to perform with my DirectMusic C++ .dll. When
I debug the app is VS6 ( VB or C++ ) pitch bend works as advertised. When I
load the .exe directly, all my pitch bend messages ( embedded or PMSG ) seem
to be ignored. Does anyone have any idea what may be going on? I'm working
in XP.
