Hi John,

I just loaded the Crystal VST into Chainer and looked at the generic user
interface for Crystal along with its graphical user interface. In the
generic user interface, I see many controls that have no labels. Many of
these controls represent nodes in Crystal's envelopes. These controls tend
to come in pairs. The first control in the pair has a label. The value of
this first control is the y-axis (vertical) position of the node in the
envelope. The control that follows has no label. The value of this second
control is the x-axis (horizontal) position of the node in the envelope.
The envelopes have nine nodes. So, there are nine pairs in a row for a
given envelope. After the ninth pair, there is a sequence of unlabeled
controls. Each of these selects the shape -- linear, etc. -- of the segment
between two nodes in the envelope.

The labels are mostly abbreviations that map to the graphical user
interface. So, for example, Voice1FEnv maps to the Voice1 tab, the Filter
section, and the envelope for that filter.

The graphical user interface has tabs for each of the three voices, Voice1,
Voice2, Voice3 and a tab for the Modulation page and a tab for the Mixer
page. Each voice page has three main sections: filter, oscillator, and
amplitude. The filter and amplitude sections each have envelopes. The
labels for the generic controls use the letter A for amplitude envelope
nodes -- Voice2AEnv, for example -- and the letter F for filter envelope
nodes.

Is that helpful, at all?

I'm not an expert with Crystal; but, maybe I can help if you have questions
about specific controls. It might be worth sending an email to the
developer of Crystal, Glenn. He seems like a good guy. Maybe he can add
better labels for the controls in the generic user interface.

Regards,

James
