Tropical Storm Ophelia crawls toward New England

  RALEIGH, North Carolina - Tropical Storm Ophelia crawled north toward New England and Canada on Friday after pounding the U.S. east coast for two days and drenching parts of North Carolina.
  Ophelia, downgraded to a storm on Thursday, was the first hurricane to hit the United States since the far more powerful Katrina killed hundreds on the U.S. Gulf Coast and displaced a million people in late August.

  VATICAN CITY - Orthodontists have national conventions, as do lawyers and computer salespeople. So why not exorcists? At the end of his weekly general audience Wednesday Pope Benedict greeted Italian exorcists who, he disclosed, are currently holding their national convention.
  The Pope encouraged them to "carry on their important work in the service of the Church."

Study Suggests Shift in Teen Sex Practices

  A federal survey finds more than half of 15- to 19-year-olds have had oral sex, possibly as a safer alternative. But few report condom use.
  More than half of American teens ages 15 to 19 have engaged in oral sex, increasing to nearly 70% for those who are 18 and 19, according to the largest federal study of the nation's sexual practices.
  The study also found that 11% of women ages 18 to 44 reported having at least one homosexual experience in their lifetime, up from 4% in a similar survey conducted in 1992.
