Hello everyone,
I am sorry I haven’t kept up to speed lately with all the crazy, hectic things
going onI do want to remind everyone, however, about this months’’s meeting. I
know we missed a potluck and I think one meeting due to all the holidays and
the sadness of losing Linda’s dog Buster. Linda, I trust that everything is
going ok, and I hope that you are comforted and surrounded by love in this
time. Hopefully, you’ll get a new doggy and we can celebrate, but if you choose
not to, I understand. It takes time to grieve and mourn the loss of a loved
one, and dogs are just as important as people. He will always be greatly
missed.
I did want to talk about this meeting. I know we’ve toyed with the notion of
having the meetings on Saturdays, but my brain has ben so muddled by tons of
things, and we haven’t had a meeting for a while, so I wasn’t fully sure if the
meetings would be on Saturdays from now on. I’ll make the meeting for friday,
unless someone says that saturday would work out for them. Once we are there,
we can finalize everything and get up to speed. I’ve also been contacted
finally by a cap representative, so I’m going to try and call her back. Let me
just state for the record that I hate phone tag, it’s not pretty.
Anyway, I’m hoping to get them to come out to our march meeting. I’ll update
everyone on what happens when and if I do get in touch with this lady.
I’ve also emailed the news channel, KMIR 6 last month, but got no response
about our program we’ve put together. I’ve tried to put the word out to a lot
of people, but it hasn’t gotten anyone’s interest as of late.
This meeting is also very important, because the deadline to submit dues,
officer information and roster is fast approaching. We need to decide who our
officers for the year, as well as determine how many members will still be
participating and paying dues. I’ll be looking forward to getting that out of
the way so we could move on to other things.
Finally, if anyone is interested in bike riding, Judy May from incight will be
putting together an event, Tour De Palm Springs, and she wants to gather
interest on if any blind people want to attend. That will mean someone going
out with you on a tandem bike. They’ll be starting with races for other people
in the morning, so blind people wouldn’t need to show up til about 11 or noon.
If anyone is interested, let me know, and I’ll pass this on to her. This event
takes place on February 8th.
Other than that, I think I’ve covered everyone that I can think of. If anyone
has any questions or comments, let me know. I’ll be seeing you guys on friday.
