Subject: Zoning Commission Hearing on Racial Equity
The Zoning Commission will be holding a public roundtable on Thursday,
September 22, 2022 at 4pm via Webex to discuss the Comprehensive Plan's
requirement for a racial equity analysis as part of all zoning actions, and the
Zoning Commission's current racial equity analysis tool. Specifically, public
input is being sought to identify:
* Means to more readily identify both the potential positive impacts and
the negative outcomes of a zoning action;
* Steps and/or processes the Commission can take to make its evaluation
through a racial equity lens more substantive; and
* Input and ideas about ways the Commission can refine and improve the
initial tool as well as general feedback about its use and efficacy to-date.
ANC's are encouraged to participate and to provide notice of the roundtable to
their constituents. ANCs and members of the public can submit written comments
to online case file (Z.C. Case No.
22-RT1<https://app.dcoz.dc.gov/CaseReport/CaseReportPage.aspx?case_id=22-RT1>)
by emailing comments and testimony to
zcsubmissions@xxxxxx<mailto:zcsubmissions@xxxxxx>. ANCs and members of the
public can also sign up to testify at the public roundtable at
https://dcoz.dc.gov/service/sign-testify or by calling Ella Ackerman at ;(202)
727-0789.
ANC's are also encouraged to contact the OAG's Equitable Land Use Section
welcomes any thoughts, or ideas about the racial equity tool/process from ANCs.
