Subject: Incident at Benning Road MV & and a Request
Good Afternoon,
Some of you may have heard that a firearm was discharged inside the Benning
Road DMV Offices today. A person who appeared to be under the influence,
assaulted the Special Police Officer (SPO) working there, took their service
pistol and discharged a round. Fortunately the round did not take affect and
there were no injures due to it. The person was arrested when members responded.
I have attached a press release regarding the shooting in the 1100 block of
Eastern Avenue, Northeast. We are seeking to identify the individuals in the
photographs. Would you all please push this out to your community members? If
any of them have information, they can text 50411 or call (202) 727-9099 and be
anonymous.
