Applications Now Open for Upcoming Ireland Virtual Trade Mission
The Office of the Deputy Mayor for Planning and Economic Development
(DMPED) and partners at the DC Chamber of Commerce announced plans to
facilitate a virtual trade mission to Ireland on June 29th and June 30th.
The goal of the trade mission is to establish trade relationships, explore
investment opportunities, and promote tourism between Washington, DC and
Ireland.
*Why Ireland?*
- Ireland has a large pattern of existing foreign direct investment into
the United States and has expressed interest of further expansion into DC.
Ireland is the 9th biggest investor in the United States and the 4th
fastest-growing source of Foreign Director Investment in the US, having
contributed $343 billion to the US in 2019 and directly supporting 336,400
US jobs in 2018.

- Healthcare/Life Science, Professional Services, Fintech, and
IT/Cybersecurity
*Export DC*
- ExportDC has opened its' second round of support in conjunction with
the upcoming virtual trade mission to Ireland. This round of applications
are open to small and medium-sized businesses in the District who need
support as they aim to utilize the upcoming virtual mission to expand their
operations internationally to Ireland.
*Eligibility*
- Small and medium-sized businesses operating within the following
sectors may be deemed eligible for Export DC support: Healthcare/Life
Science, Professional Services, Fintech, and IT/Cybersecurity.
