Hello Colleagues
Community involvement in our grantmaking process is important to the
Greater Washington Community Foundation and the Health Equity Fund.
Therefore, we are seeking your support with our upcoming review process!
Our Health Equity Fund team is currently recruiting for external reviewers
for the Supporting New and Established Community Practices and Structures
that Foster Economic Mobility grant opportunity. For this first grant
round, The Community Foundation will invest in community practices and
infrastructures that improve the prospects for economic mobility for Black,
Latinx, Indigenous, people of color and other marginalized populations and
the communities where they live in the District of Columbia.
The Community Foundation’s goal is to recruit 30 reviewers, with external
readers reviewing 10-12 applications. We are specifically looking for
community members (position description attached), and local reviewers from
foundations, think tanks, and government agencies (position description
attached). These external reviewers should be DC residents and have some
experience in health equity and/or economic mobility. In terms of community
members, we are most interested in BIPOC residents serving as grant
reviewers who have had the most difficulty experiencing health equity and
economic mobility in the District of Columbia. If you are available or know
of good candidates, please share the attached position descriptions.
Community members will receive $1,200 if selected and they meet all the
review requirements. To be considered, interested candidates must complete

Below are key dates:
• RFP closes July 25
• A live webinar session will be provided on Tuesday,
July 26, 2022, from 4:00pm to 5:00 pm. A recording of the live session will
be distributed to those who cannot attend
• Review period - August 2 to August 30, 2022
• There will be two (2) grant review meetings the week
of September 5th. One will be in person.
