Hope everyone is well. Below is the weekly communal farm update on
available produce to give away, volunteer opportunities, and requests for
help this week.

*DCMA Herbal Medicine Giveaway this Wednesday at Lederer Gardens 11-12pm *
*(Rescheduled from last week)*
DC Mutual Aid Apothecary (DCMA) will be popping up at the veggie giveaway
with fresh herbs, herbal glycerites, elderberry syrup and a bulk dried herb
section for tea blending. DCMA provides free herbal products and education
to the community and is a chapter of Herbalists Without Borders.

*Still Have Lots of Pumpkins to Give Away!*
We'll be giving out more edible and ornamental pumpkins this week at all
the veggie giveaways.

*Can self harvest during open farm hours or pick up harvested, washed, and
wrapped produce at the weekly veggie giveaways *
*Edgewood Rooftop Farm *
- Crops ready to harvest
- *Warm Weather crops: Tomatoes, peppers, eggplants, beans, cut
flowers, basil*, *herbs*
- *Cool Weather crops: Collards, kale, chard, snow peas, mustard*
- Weekly produce giveaways
- Tuesdays 11-12pm
- Can self-harvest if volunteering during open hours
- Tuesdays 10-1pm
- Saturdays 9-11am

- Harvest for Shrine of the Sacred Heart food program
- Garden Maintenance - watering, weeding, fertilizing, pest/disease

- Working on compost bin repairs around the city. Email if interested
in helping.

****Weekend and evening open farm hours are for volunteering and
self-harvesting. There's no official veggie giveaway on weekends or
evenings*, *except once a month at Marvin Gaye Urban Farm****
*Weekly Request for Help*
*Looking for Donations to Supplement the Weekly Giveaways*
The weekly veggie giveaways will go till December but as we get less
sunlight and heat we'll have less veggies to give away. Help us supplement
our giveaways with extra nonperishable foods

(canned foods, dried foods, and anything that doesn't need a refrigerator),
extra veggies from your gardens, toiletries, first aid supplies, school

We're running low on plastic bags to use as free produce bags during our
weekly veggie giveaways. Feel free to drop extra bags off at any veggie
giveaway or farm open hours.

flyer with local listservs, civic groups, and if possible print them out
and post them in public areas near the farms.
