*6 Week Medical Leave Increase*

The maximum amount of paid medical leave available for an individual to
care for their own serious health condition has increased from 2 weeks to 6
weeks per year. This increase will apply to all medical leave claims with
approved leave dates that begin on or after September 26, 2021.

If you have already filed a medical leave claim and were approved for the
previous maximum of 2 weeks of paid medical leave benefits, you may still
be eligible for the additional 4 weeks of medical leave. However, you must
file a new medical leave claim with requested leave dates that begin on or
after September 26, 2021 and provide documentation showing a medical reason
for taking the additional leave.
