Hope everyone is well! Below is the available produce to give away, volunteer
opportunities, and requests this week at both DPR communal farms.

  Available Produce This Week

Edgewood Rooftop Farm

  *   Crops ready
     *   Cool weather - Collards, kale, chard
     *   Warm weather - Tomatoes, eggplant, peppers, summer squash, basil,
cucumbers, basil, string beans, perennial herbs, cut flowers

  *   Weekly produce giveaways every Tuesday 11-12pm
     *   Can self-harvest during open hours (Tuesday/Thursdays 10-1pm)

Grilled Summer Salad Workshop this Week!!!
During Veggie Giveaway (11-12pm)

Learn how to create a grill veggie salad with our summer crops.

Lederer Gardens

  *   Crops ready –
     *   Cool weather - collards, kale, chard
     *   Warm weather - Tomatoes, eggplant, peppers, cucumbers, okra, squash,
string beans, watermelon, perennial herbs, cut flowers

  *   Weekly produce giveaways every Wednesday 11-12pm
     *   Can self-harvest during open hours (Monday/Wednesday 9-1pm)

Lederer Gardens Evening/Weekend Open Hours

We hope to announce more evening/weekend open hours soon.  If you would like to
receive updates send us an email.  Thanks!

Monday – Lederer Gardens - 9-1pm (starting early to beat heat)

  *   Planting Fall crops
  *   Garden maintenance (weeding, watering, thinning, bug squishing, pruning,
fertilizing, etc.)

Tuesday - Edgewood - 10-2pm

  *   Harvesting for the 11-12pm weekly produce giveaway
  *   Planting Fall crops

  *   Garden maintenance (weeding, watering, thinning, bug squishing, pruning,
etc.)

Wednesday - Lederer - 9-1pm  ***Please keep an eye out for a weather
cancellation email! If its not raining too hard we’ll do the veggie giveaway
under the pavilion.  If its rainy hard or there’s lighting we’ll cancel****

  *   Harvesting for the 11-12pm weekly produce giveaway
  *   Working on a new strawberry patch
  *   Working on tomato trellises
  *   Garden maintenance (weeding, watering, thinning, bug squishing, pruning,
fertilizing, etc.)

Thursday – Edgewood – 10-12pm, Lederer 12-2pm

  *   Edgewood – 10-12pm

     *   Fixing any storm damage
     *   Garden maintenance (weeding, watering, thinning, bug squishing,
pruning, fertilizing, etc.)
  *   Lederer – 12-2pm (email if you plan to join)

pruning, fertilizing, etc.)

Need Help at Lederer Gardens Open Hours

We could use more help setting up the Wednesday veggie giveaway and prepping
our Fall gardens on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday 9-11am or Sunday 7-9am and
Thursdays 7-8:30pm

Edgewood rooftop farm

Ward 5 - 300 Evarts St NE

street parking along Evarts st (South side) and Franklin st NE (North Side)
Find stairs inside park that lead to farm.  Don’t need to go inside Rec center.

What to bring?

Volunteering - Please bring your own water, garden gloves if you have them, sun
protection if needed, and a mask.

Picking up veggies - Please bring bags and a mask
