Hey Chris,

Yeah, I have no affects on the master buss. I have always been against that from a mixing stand point...

I will be more than happy to fix you up some sound bights of mastered and pre mastered stuff. I can do you a little better than a minute of audio though I think. I'll do a clip of each song.

Doug is really cool and so is Robert. I started trying to decide who I wanted to use, and I checked out several places.

My method was to look at what musicians played on the project, who engineered/ mixed it, and who mastered it.

Doug and Robert kept coming up as mastering engineers for each project. So I decided that would be the people for me.

They have quite a room down there, and the client list goes on for days! Plus they are just great guys!

I'll keep you posted, and promise to fix up some before and after clips for you.

Shawn

Hi Shawn.

Obviously, don't allow any clipping. But, a safe ceiling might be -3dB or so. Just don't stick a limiter or compressor on the master bus; that's their job. Then again, I'm sure you knew that.

Doug Sax! Wow! Just being able to talk to the man would be an honour.
Since you have such great guys mastering your project, can I ask you a favor? For my own education, could I hear maybe a 60-second clip of the unmastered and then mastered mix? It's hard to know what magic these guys add to things when you only hear the finished project, on cd or worse, on the radio.

Chris
