Look in the programs folder where sonar is located. Virtual piano might be
found under those directories and just needs to be installed.

Subject: [ddots-l] sonar question: qwerty midi keyboard

Hi,

In the Cake Talking manual, in two distinct places the author talks about
something known as the "virtual piano". This would be a graphical
representation of a midi keyboard, where you can also use the keys on your
computer's qwerty keyboard to enter midi notes. Because I have Sonar and
jaws on my laptop as well, it would be handy to not have to take my real
midi keyboard along with me, if I intend to compose somewhere else than at
home. Using your computer's keyboard as if it were a piano would be handy.

The virtual piano, according to the CakeTalking manual, is something that
needs to be installed before it will appear in the midi devices input list.
Unfortunately, I can't find it anywhere in Sonar help, nor did I find any
useful pointer to it on the internet.

Where do I find the virtual piano driver, so that I can use my computer's
typing keyboard to enter midi notes as if the keys on the computer were a
piano?

Kind regards,
Paul.
