David, I wish it were possible to do that. The only way to automate a plug-in on a track is to do it manually or, you could use the remote control dialog box to map a control on your keyboard. Then, you could use the slider that you have just mapped to alter the event. Actually that's one annoying thing about Sonar. You can't edit shapes at all.

To all you sonar users out there.  How do you automate the parameter of a
given plugin on an audio track, without doing it manually.  Is it possible
to create the midi events on a midi track, then convert them to shapes and
then paste them into the audio track.
Manual automation is good for some things but if you wanted a specific
filter shape to take place over a very long period of time.  or have an
insignificant space of time,say one beat.  How could this be achieved.
