[ddots-l] saving and loading data and the Motif

Hello folks.
I have a 60 GB USB portable drive that will work well, of course, with my
ES8. My problem is that I don't know how one can enter file names for saving
and retrieving with this device. Is there a work around that avoids the
necessity of using the cursor to form the names by chosing letters on the
bitmapped display?

P.S. I thought there was a Motif Help list that I had subscribed to. Is
