Hi Omar,

No, you don't need sound forge in this process. Sonar can mix down your project into a wave file. If you have software that converts a wave file into a usable cd, then theoretically no further editor is needed. However, I personally use an editor to trim the start and end of the file and to normalize the master mix. If you want to burn things onto a cd, then you can use third party software like nero or Roxio easy cd creator, but windows itself can do it just as well. XP is capable of burning data cd's, and the windows media player can create plain audio cd's if you like.

Regards,
Paul.

Actually, my goal is, once my songs are converted to
audio, I want to get the music onto a cd. So, what I
should have asked is; is Sound Forge necessary in
order for me to get these files onto a cd?

your question is no. They compliment each other,
but I don't think that
sonar replaces the need for a good sound editing
program. Just my personal
opinion, but I suppose it depends on what you plan
to do specifically.

Good luck.

Omar Binno

We have come from God, and inevitably the myths woven by us, though they contain error, will also reflect a splintered fragment of the true light, the eternal truth that is with God. Indeed only by myth-making, only by becoming a "sub-creator" and inventing stories, can Man aspire to the state of perfection that he knew before the Fall. Our myths may be misguided, but they steer however shakily towards the true harbor, while materialistic "progress" leads only to a yawning abyss and the Iron Crown of the power of evil. - J. R. R.
