Your track templates will still be there since they are in your cakewalk projects folder which never gets overwritten.

I am going to be upgrading to sonar 6.2 in a fiew days and I was wondering if my track templates from Sonar 5.3 would be saved? Would I have to do them all over again? ----- Original Message ----- From: "Gordon Kent" <dbmusic@xxxxxxxxxxxx>

stacey:
If you keep arrowing around in the track strip for th midi track that you are recording on, you should see a widget that says "auto quantize off" or "auto quantize on." It shouldn't be on by default. Also, what is your latency set to when you are recording?

Ah yes,
the sound source is the Roland Groove Soft Synth, TR 9o9. Any ideas as to why it seems to be slightly quantizing? You mentioned "auto quantizing. Where is this setting?

Thanks

Stacey:
The sound source would be whatever soft synth or hardware is actually producing the sound. The axium is just a midi controller, isn't it? If you want to make any settings like the metronome permanent, open up a new project (control n) and then make your changes, then save it as normal with the file type set to template, and make sure you save it in your templates folder.

Gord,
Sound source=M Audio Axiom 49 Midi Keyboard controller.
DAW= Sonar 5P.
Question 1. How would one turn auto quantize on and off?
Question2. With each new project I always have to go to the "options menu, open menu item "project and set the metronome tab settings such as audio click and the "output to "master. Is it possible to make these settings the default?

Thanks!

P.S. Gord, I had a chance to check out the new audio demo. Ya mon! It's so good I picked up so many little subtle things from the demo. Again you brought it home baby! You are rock steady, ruff and ready! Really appreciate this audio demo/tutorial.

Stacey:
Are you recording into sonar. What are you using as a sound source? Maybe you inadvertently turned auto quantize on on the track you are recording.

Hi,

I record a drum pattern which fits perfectly with the project I'm in but when I play it back the beats are off a little almost like they are quantized. When I say off, I mean slightly off but enough that it is no good. The natual feel of playing the beats with my midi keyboard controller seem to come out rigid upon playback.

Any ideas?

Thanks.
Stacy
