I respectfully agree to disagree. You could potentially remove frequencies
with the EQ on your mixing concel that you may want back later. Always
better to track with the EQ flat then, adjust in the box with the track/bus
EQ in Sonar.

Live drums sound better if you get them in the ballpark while laying down
the tracks. Also equalizing hum, rumble, and other noise while tracking is
most desirable.

I was always told to record with flat EQ, that way you have all the

I ahve a mackie mixer with only a pre eq option on the direct
channels. i can have it modified where the eqs will become only post for
each channel. there's no option to modify it to become both pre and post. is
it preferable to keep the outputs as pre or post eqs?
