For the record, it wasn't Tom. Tom don't do work like this... Like I said, I won't say on list who it was, but I will say who it wasn't... ----- Original Message ----- From: "Phil Muir" <info@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>

Shawn wrote: Oh, and a few other things I should disclose:

1: This person who did the programming and keyboard playing isn't blind,
isn't on this list, and I won't share his name on list.

Phil replied: this is entirely speculation on my part, and I don't expect
you to answer this on or, off list however, I remember you posting before
that you were working with Tom Schuman who's the keyboardist from Spyro
Gyra.

Note: remember that anything we post on this list is searchable on Google
such as the following:

//www.freelists.org/post/ddots-l/OT-session-videos,12

"Its quite a cast of folks who are playing on it and co producing. Tom
Schuman who's the keyboardist from Spyro Gyra,"

Shawn continues: 2: The cost of this work is $1000.

Phil replied: so if necessary, pay him off and use your keyboard parts that
is, if you prefer them. It's your record and ultimately, you need to be
happy with what's being tracked. You are the one who has to live with it.
Having done session work and coproduction myself, I never get offended if
someone doesn't use all of my work, providing I have done my best for the
client and been paid. I thought that the keyboard playing on Shawn Brock-
Sunset Motel.mp3 sounded cold and lifeless. E.G. like someone was doing a
job and not paying any attention at all to the vibe on the track. Just
banging out what he thought was right. The clue to me at least is in the
title. I would have taken a look at that and given a careful listen to your
keyboard playing which I am assuming was on: Shawn Brock- Sunset Motel-
2.mp3. The playing on this track was light and airy, and the sounds a
little softer. As a producer/arranger, personally I preferred your playing
over his. You left a lot more space on the tune and to me at least,
captured the vibe on the track better. I did like the fact that he followed
the stabs on the end however, you could easily punch in and do that end
section.

Shawn wrote: 3: I'm asking your thoughts because I respect the opinions of
my fellow engineers, musicians and everyone who is a listener of music.

Phil replied: well, those are mine.
