Hi Greg,
On Sonar That usually happens around here if I set the send to Pre Fader,
instead of Post Fader.

Also, check if the solo button is on.

Cant remenber anything else, Good luck!

regards,

Rui Vilarinho

I've been thinking, inputs 1 and 2 are instrument mike 1 left and right,
track 1 seems to be the track that gets recorded over all the tracks.
That still doesn't tell me why the project audio tracks have only the
instruments and voices they're suppose to have. Does anyone have a thought? Is
there some info I'm leaving out that would help solve this problem?

I'm using a laptop with windows 7 and sonar 8.5 64 bit and cake talking.
A motu 8 channel sound card with a focusright expantion module, so we can
record 16 tracks.
I have all the inputs set correctly but when I play back and solo a track I
hear everything.]
When I playback an individual audio track from the project importing it
into another sonar project, i get a clean track with just guitar, vocal, piano,
etc only the sound recorded on that track.
    I can't figure it out.
Why doesn't soloing the track give me just what's on that track?
