Why wouldn't you want to use the usb instead?

  Subject: [ddots-l] midi setup question

  Hi,

I'm using an m-audio pro 88 midi controler connected via USB to my computer
with sonar. I'm mostly using softsynths, but am using one roland module. I just
connected everything today between the module and the controler via a 2x2
midiman interface. In my "midi devices" option, I selected the m-audio 2x2 in
the input and output fields. Am I suppose to select anything else? I imported
the ins def files for the roland module and selected it in the instruments
menu, and also selected all the m-audio midiman outputs as well. I'm not
getting any sound, however; not from my module, and no longer from my
softsynths either. When I go to record, there doesn't appear to be any midi
signal, because there are no notes in the event view. My midi cable setup is as
follows: from the controler I have a cable going "midi out" to "midi in" of the
interface. From the module I have a cable going from "midi in" to "midi out" of
the interface. If anyone uses the m-audio pro 88, is there anything I need to
change in that controler in order to transmit midi signals through its midi
jacks as opposed to its USB output?

  Thanks for any help.
