    Hmm, I wonder if the affect is hard coded into the file.  What are you 
using to playback the MIDI data?

      I'm using midi files from the internet. The file sounds like it has some 
type of E.Q. effect, everything sounds extra basey, and one of the tracks, 
which is a sound effect, seems to have some type of chorus effect on it or 
something. I've tried deleting all controlers, etc, but it hasn't helped much. 
Any ideas?
