Omar,

If you have a small mixer, just run the synth outputs into the mixer and listen
through the headphones. You'll be hearing the synth respond to the MIDI
messages as they rout from your synth, into Sonar, and back out to the synth.

Works just fine.

I think that's the step I was missing. So am i right in creating an audio track
that's routed to the inputs where the synth is plugged into the interface, then
route the midi track to that synth?

You can't monitor anything on a midi track, you have to monitor via its audio
track...

    Hello,

If I want to monitor an external synth in sonar from its midi track, don't
i simply have to just turn on input echo on that midi track? I'm doing that,
but I still can't hear the keyboard through sonar's input monitoring. Am I
missing any steps?

    Thanks.
