Bill,

The Apollo is a serial speech synth, so it won't be listed as an audio
device and shouldn't provide a source for conflict.

Cheers.

Tim

But, Michael, if you go to the Windows Control Panel | Sound and Audio
Devices | Audio Tab, is that Apollo listed there? If so, is the "Use only
Default Devices" checked?

Otherwise, as far as I know, Windows is somewhat random about which of
multiple audio devices it decides to play.

Best,
Bill

Bill,

Thank you ffor your suggestion, I don't think that is the problem because
when I connect the FW1884 to my computer I use the Apollo to run Jaws but I
will need to know how to route Jaws to another soundcard when I am up and
running. I am hoping to get hold of another computer and see if the Tascam
will work on it so that will be my next step. I will let you know how I get
on.

Regards,

Michael

        Hello, Michael,

See our CakeTalking faq at http://www.dancingdots.com/ctfaq.htm
<http://www.dancingdots.com/ctfaq.htm>
and find the heading that says:
Q: Is it possible to run JFW through my soundcard on my computer
while running my music through my external sound card?

Let us know how it goes.

        Hi there,

I would be very greatful if someone could help me with a problem I
am having with the FW1884 audio control surface unit. I an running Windows
XP, Sonar 4.03 and CT 4. As I am new to computer recording a sighted friend
help me load the software for the Tascam and although the settings appear to
be correct on the computer, there is no audio coming through the FW1884
soundcard. My friend thinks it may be a conflict between the 2 soundcards
but I would appreciate if someone could let me know if they have had a
simular problem and how best to resolve it. If anyone wishes to contact me
off list with possible solutions,
        email: michaelbrown@xxxxxx

        Regards,

        Michael
