I think he might be talking about a compresser preset rather than the
effect itself.

Did you just delete it from the list of VST plug-ins or do you mean you
deleted it from a track or bus in a project?
Anyway, if it's the first one, you should be able to just tell Sonar to
scan VST folders again. Make sure to check the various options so it
doesn't exclude anything.
