Hi Tim,

What's the difference between professional and ultimate?

  Hi Darren,

Professional/Ultimate offer an XP compatibility mode which can get around
some issues with older software (e.g. Sibelius 5) and also offer the potential
to support larger memory sizes if your motherboard also has the capacity. The
down side is that you'll need a Jaws Professional license upgrade, if you
haven't already got this flavour of Jaws.

  Best wishes.

Subject: [ddots-l] Which version of Window 7

  Hi folks.

As some of you will know, I've been having terrible issues with jaws and my
recently repaired system.

I've decided to bite the bullet and reformat the hard drive and start fresh.

Baring this in mind I've decided to go with Windows 7 for the new install.

Is there any particular advantage to getting Profession or Ultimate over Home
Premium as most of the differences seems to be with security and networking,
which won't be necessary as it'll hardly be connected to the net or the home
network.

Also, my system has separate drives, the C drive where the operating system
is installed, and audio drive where sample library and CakeWalk projects are
stored.

When I do the reformat, will the audio drive also be formatted? The audio
drive is not external.

I'll do a full back up of the audio drive in any case, but I'd just like to
know in advance what to expect.

  Thanks in advance.

  Cheers

  Darren
