Steve,

Any way you can run a restore to an earlier date before you first changed 
the resolution? If you can use JAWS to open the control panel then I'm 
assuming you can use JAWS to launch restore and select an earlier date.

Ha, if only it were that easy.  I don't even get the chance to make
changes.  When I move to the Settings tab of the Display dialog in
Control Panel, bingo, instant freeze.  It doesn't matter whether I do
it by moving across the tab line with the arrow keys or physically
click on the word "Settings" or press CTRL+TAB to get there.  Either
way, landing on that page causes the freeze-up.
