Thanks D!J!X!

I was kind of hoping it wasn't the Ram as the Sound Card is the easier option
to sort.
I don't believe it can be anything else as it's a Carillon laptop Computer
(Built specially for music applications).

I'm not Computer savvy, however, I've been told by those who are that it's been
set up well.

It's thanks to Darren H talking things through on the Phone, the caketalking
scripts and Gordon Kent's tutorial on the Dancing Dots site that I'm able to
understand enough to write full tracks within 6 Weeks of first switching it on.
I have T&T Consultancy coming over shortly to teach me how to record live
vocals and how to rout and buss the effects.

Thanks again D!J!X

I don't think your ram is an issue as i've used dimesion and other heavy
pulgs with less ram than that. It can be a number of things however, from your
card and its settings, to what programs your are running in the background, to
how well your system is configured for daw work...

  Hi All,

My Name is Steve W, Just joined the group Yesterday.

I've always used hardware equipment and painstakingly memorised all the
screens and counted the cursor (4 across 6 down) all that crazy stuff.

6 Weeks ago I started using Sonar with Caketalking,
It's fantastic having this kind of access.

I just have one little question:
I use sometimes ten or more applications on my projects, I've been using
Dimension Pro as the Samples are mostly very good, especially once you've
pitched some of them correctly.
I only have the peak meters on and the CPU Conservation mode is on yet, I'm
still having the samples break up.

Is this due to me only having 3GB of Ram or is it my USB M-Audio Sound Card.

  Thanks in Advance

  Steve W
