Check device manager, type in device manager on the search box on the start
or on the control panel. Go to IEEE1394 adapters, and it should read
something like Texas Instruments compatible or Texas Instruments followed by
a number/series of characters.

Is there a way to determine on my new Win7 64 bit Dell PC what type of
firewire chipset is and / or my PC's compatibility with the FocusRite units?

Also / any experiences / opinions on list re accessability / quality of the
MOTU stand alone AI's like UltraLite-mk3 Hybrid? This unit supports both USB
& Firewire.

Gord. If your talking about the Saffire Pro 24, 40 etc, then, we have
developed HSC sets for it. Shoot me an E-mail if you want the set.
Will be
more than happy to send it over.
