You are most welcome, Dennis.

OK, now it's time for you to compose that song about drinking your coffee by
the fireside with your dog sleeping at your feet and the snow coming down
outside! :)

Emne: [ddots-l] Important Note to People who Use CakeTalking under a
Non-English Version of Windows

Dear International Customers,

If your version of Windows is not in the English language, please take the
following steps.

Read the instructions in the document in CakeTalking's Setup folder that
applies to your version of Windows. For example, if you have installed
SONAR under Windows XP, see:
1SettingsXP

There are shortcuts to these documents under Start Menu Programs CakeTalking
for SONAR Settings

In the 1SettingsXP or 1SettingsVista documents, Read carefully the
instructions under the section entitled:

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USERS OF EUROPEAN WINDOWS TO SET THEIR COMPUTER KEYBOARD TO
ENGLISH.

For users of Non English Windows, it is recommended that you run JAWS from
the System Tray. You must also set your computer keyboard layout to English
(United States). This is done in the language page of the regional and
language dialog found in the Control Panel. For best results with
CakeTalking and Sonar, you should boot up your PC with the English keyboard
layout setting active.

You will find detailed instructions on how to install the English keyboard
layout setting in 1SettingsXP and in 1SettingsVista. I believe the
instructions for Vista should also apply to Windows7. For next release,
David Pinto will supply us with a set-up document for Windows7 specifically.

How to Set Correct User Preference for Non-English Windows

Press CONTROL+U to open CakeTalking's User Options dialog.

Arrow down until you hear:
I am using English-language Windows

Press space bar and JAWS should say:
I am not using English-language Windows

Now, arrow down to the end of the list. You should hear:
Press Space, For The Options To Save All Your User Preferences

Press the space bar and your User Preferences will be saved.

Is CakeTalking more responsive now? Before deciding, close SONAR, reboot
and run SONAR again to be absolutely sure.

Bill
