Sara you say you know some one who is blind and using the Fantom Xr, I would love to talk to this person to find if they have some tips and tricks with the unit. I've had one my sel for almost a year now and I am very please with the Fantom's sounds, and my clients thus far have been extremely happy with the sounding results. That's the reason why I ended up buying it myself. Right out of the box it works and I have had to do little or no configuring to make it work.

Just make sure you give it a good look at a store or whatever. Make sure you can get it into multi mode (to receive different parts on different midi channels), and make sure you can turn local off.

Your best bet is to download the pdf and see if you can convert I it using
adobe reader into text format. If not, and if you have openbook or Kurzweil
1000, they can do it. If not, adobe's web site can also do it if you send it
to them, I think. I am looking into a phantom xr myself, and downloaded the
manual, but haven't looked at it yet.
