Chris:
First of all, you can't arm the amp sim because it is a very old effect
that did not conform to todays standards for automation. You have to
assign the parameters you want to control from within the track
inspector.

Subject: [ddots-l] Ok, really confused about arming and remote
controlling FX parameters.

I have a bus with three effects patched into it. First, I have the
Sonitus
gate, then the fx-reverb, then the amp sim. I am trying to arm
parameters
with a view to remote controlling them from my radium keyboard's
programmable controls.

1. I know how to get to the arm parameters dialogue either in the bus
inspector or from the context menu in the fx bin itself. I understand
checking the parameters I want to arm.

2. For the amp sim effect, the menu item for arming parameters is
unavailable. Does this mean I can't arm/remote control this effect at
all?

3. Ok, so I've armed the parameters. Where do I control them from
during
an automation record session? In the case of the Sonitus gate, the
dialogue box is inaccessible. In the case of the reverb effect, all its

controls are edit boxes, not sliders, and thus not subject to
manipulation
in real time?

4. The whole point of the exercise is to attach them to the sliders and

knobs on my radium, and nowhere do I see the remote control option that
comes up in the context menus of things like the volume control on the
bus/track. Am I missing something?

        A confused Chris Bartlett
