Hi, If you back up to dvd the lack of speech feedback doesn't matter, as it isn't necessary to tell image for windows what you want restored and to where. The lack of speech feedback only becomes an issue if you're backing up to another drive. Given that there aren't any benefits in doing that over backing up to dvd why not stick to dvd, where restoring is no problem.
