[ddots-l] Motif Help

Hi
I have a performance about a month away and want to set up some
background tracks on my motif for this occasion. I will be playing my
keyboard over top of these tracks and want to know how do I set up my
background for this. Do I use performance or master mode to create my
drum and base patterns? Could someone give me some advise please, I
need to set this up as soon as possible if I can. Thanks
