Hi Mike:

I'd like to use a separate mixing consul, but the guys at guitar center say
that the delta 44's conversion rate is not that good. Any ideas about that? If
there is something out there that i can use with a better conversion rate and
still use it with a mixer, does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks.

Hi Omer about six months ago when I was considering my purchase, I was
thinking about the Onix series of mixers, but got quickly turned away from it
when the tech support guys at Cakewalk stated that they did have to latency
issues with the Mackie, and firewire card. However this may change in Sonar
6.0, but needless to say, I ended up spending my money on the Project mixx as
it has both a audio card with a surface controller. If you don't have any
mixer at all then I would definatly go for the Mackie with the firewire card.
It may make your life a lot easier as you plug everything direct in to it and
have the firewire capture your audio. Its going to have to be a disitian which
your going to have to make in the end, based on your needs. As for my project
mix I love, and my clients have been satisfied with the end result. On the
other hand if I was purchasing a mixer I would go with the onix series, but at
this point I am quite happy with the Mackie 1402, 10 years and still kicking
with out any problems.
  . Hope this info helps.

    Hi Everyone:

A salesmen at Guitar Center recommended that I use a Mackie Onyx, which is
one of their higher end mixers with a firewire card. He says the firewire card
can become replacement for the delta 44 soundcard that i'm currently using. He
says that I'll get much better quality when converting to digital with the
firewire card that comes with the onyx mixer. So I wanted to get some feedback
from you guys before I made a decision on this.

    Thanks.
