Hi Dj\X, A very good observation! thanks.
Yes, instead of sample rate, it's suppose to be BitRate.
I suppose that this plugin doesnt aloud to choose diferent sample rates, by standard is 44,1k.

So, i mean Different bit rate, as for the mp3, say 128, 160, 192 etc.

48k was a bad example! a bit confuse!lol

For the interested in some more deep info, Find this website with advanced explanation.

best regards,
Rui

Hey Rui, just an observation, when you say:
" If you'd like to have multiple sample rates, without having to go into
the EncoderConfig each time to edit it, follow the same steps, pressing
new,
and typing in "LAME MP3 Encoder - 48k". You can replace 48k with whatever
sample rate you want. The extension box should be replaced with .mp3,"
Did you mean different bit rate, as for the mp3, say 128, 160, 192 etc, or
is it really sample rate? I only ask because 48k seems to apply to sample
rate, so I figure if you typed in the sample rate, why would the plug let
you choose different ones? Like I said though, just an observation.

Hi Neville,

This encoder works well friend.
i'll try to resume the instructions of a website recommended by Chris.

1st. Unzip the folder an paste it on My computer, C, programmes, per
example. wherever you want.

2nd. Start Sonar and open sonar Tools menu by pressing alt plusL. Go up 5
times to find:
external encoder configuration utility.
do enter. It will pop up some editing to do.

3rd. Tab around to edit.
In the "Friendly Name" box, write: LAME MP3 Encoder In the "Extension"
box,
replace .*** with .mp3.
In the "Description" box, write "LAME MP3 Encoder", though this is not a
requirement. You can write whatever you wish.
In the "Path" box, press the button and look for the lame folder path,
through the tree view.
Now, under the "Command Line" box, type in the following:

 lame -b 48 -m j %I %O

You can replace 48 with whatever bitrate you want. Hit save, and close,
and you're done.

When you go to File > Export > Audio, you should see LAME MP3 Encoder
under "Files of type:".
Please note that the Sample Rate in the exported does NOT apply. (?)
Also, please note that the Bit Depth DOES still apply. (?)

If you'd like to have multiple sample rates, without having to go into
the
EncoderConfig each time to edit it, follow the same steps, pressing new,
and
typing in "LAME MP3 Encoder - 48k". You can replace 48k with whatever
sample
rate you want. The extension box should be replaced with .mp3,
description -
put whatever you want, in path, again look for the lame path.

To download lame encoder.

Subject: [ddots-l] MP3 encoder

Hello,
I have heard that Lame or any other MP3 encoder of your choice can be
integrated with sonar so that projects can be exported as mp3's. I may be
mistaken, but I think I had heard that someone on this list figured out
how
to do it. Can someone please email me a step by step description of how
to
do it?
