Switch to asio drivers if available. Also, do you know what firewire chipset your firewire card or motherboard is using? Do you have windows7 x64 or x86 (32 or 64 bit)? How much ram do you have, what's the processor etc. Is this a custom built daw, or an off the shelf system like a dell or an hp, even if you bought and "customized" it on their website. Again, sorry for all the questions, but it's crucial to figuring out the root of the problem. If you want email me off list instead, (djx@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx), as to not take up people's time with the topic, since we're no longer speaking about sonar or cakeTalking or any DancingDots products for that matter. :) Regards, D!J!X! _____ From: ddots-l-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:ddots-l-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Roger Baccus Sent: Friday, October 28, 2011 10:25 PM To: ddots-l@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Cc: R B Subject: [ddots-l] Re: InstrumentDefinitions? OK, this is definitely a hardware issue, either with the motu's connection or your computer. As Chris asked, what drivers and type are you using, what type of connection, system specs etc. Can't help you with much unless we have these crucial pieces of information. :) Regards, D!J!X! _____ From: ddots-l-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:ddots-l-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Roger Baccus Sent: Thursday, October 27, 2011 8:31 PM To: ddots-l@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [ddots-l] Re: InstrumentDefinitions? The latency is with the MOTU 8Pre, vocal input. The response is really slow. For example, I made a couple midi tracks and attempted to sing through the MOTU; there is a horrible delay! ----- Original Message ----- From: D!J!X! <mailto:megamansuperior@xxxxxxxxxxx> To: ddots-l@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Thursday, October 27, 2011 2:16 PM Subject: [ddots-l] Re: InstrumentDefinitions? Instrument defenitions won't help at all with latency, instrument definitions is a midi thing. Have you looked on yamahasynth.com? Or google cakewalk instrument definitions for motif rack. Regarding your latency, what is the problem, the sounds take to long to come back after you press a key? What are your system specs?
