MessageWon't make any difference from a system performance point of view
whether you use a softsynthe as a .VST or DXi.

So, in theory, it should work as a DXi rather than a VST.

Sadly, that's likely to put extra strain on the computer isn't it? or am I
interpretting what I've read wrong.

  Cheers

I found the same thing with z3, and so I saved my favorite sounds from that
synth in presets so I could get to them quickly. Funny, im sonar 4, I was able
to use it like hiper sonic, with the midi channel and the patch brouser, but
after that it didn't work for me.

      Hi

perfect, it was listed so I excluded it.

All banks and patches now fully accessible.

Do any other popular soft synths work like this in that VST is
inaccessible but DXi is?

I've found that using the Z3TA is not very accessible using track
properties, but using soft synth properties at least I get the list of voices,
but just in a huge long list, not in banks.

      Cheers

No it does, it's just built in to the application now, at least thats
how I see it lol. Check the tools>cakewalk plugin manager to see if hypersonic
is still installed in the VSTi instruments section. If it is, tab over to the
exculde button.

        Hi

        I wasn't aware that I was using a wrapper, I'm using Sonar 7 producer,
which doesn't have a VST wrapper.

        Cheers

It's probably still wrapped with directixer or whatever vst wrapper
you use.

          Hi

I actually uninstalled the software and reinstalled it, unchecking
the VST portion of the installation, so only the DXi and Stand alone is loaded,
but I'm still being told that the VST is loaded.

          Cheers

Try typing alt vh to open the synth rack. press a and then right
arrow to expose all the avaialble soft synths. down arrow to make sure that
you're loading the dxi version and not the VST version of the soft synth. It
should tell you which one is veing loaded.
            K.

Very odd. Works fine here. You've installed it as both a vst and
DXI?

                Hi

I tried that and it doesn't work, just one patch loads at start
up and that's all.

                Cheers

You can access banks and patches by opening the tracks
properties dialogue on the midi track of the synth and tabbing to bank and
patch.

                    Hi

Yup, that's how I've always done it, but selecting patches
isn't greatly accessible as you have to click on a virtical line to access
extra voices.

                    Cheers

Insert it by hitting alt I for insert, then hit y for
plugins and softsynths. hit the letter s til you hear steinberg hypersonic.
thats how i do it in sonar 6.

                        Hi all.

                        I've just installed Hypesonic v 2.7.

I remember a thread recently about how the VST plugin
is not properly
accessible for patch and bank changes but that you
could access it using
                        DXi.

Can some please provide the method of inserting the
Hypersonic soft synth
into a track so that the DXi part of hypersonic is
loaded.

When I installed the software I installed the VST, DXi
and Rewire parts of
                        the software.

I can insert the soft synth, but it is still using VST
rather than DXi.

Sorry never tried this before so excuse my ignorence.

                        Thanks in advance.

                        Darren
