Hi Tim, The Controllers were all indeed set to 0, I'm wondering maybe the controllers kept appearing because it's a dance style type hardware sequencer "RM1X", you don't have pattern numbers instead you have 16 keyboard notes that you write patterns on, this is so DJs may alternate the sequences. I simply write the patterns and link them, each link must automatically add the controllers. I suspect that if you checked the data values for the rest you'd find that they are trying to ensure that the sustain pedal was set to off and the mod wheel, etc. were set to zero. Your hardware unit probably compensates for this automatically, but the serial nature of MIDI means that your actual note messages were waiting for these controllers to be sent out. Not sure why it would insert a full set before each note event, though - I'd have expected a set at the start of the track then no more. I must admit that I nearly always kill any controllers on any MIDI file that I import so that they don't get in the way of any of my own sound design efforts. Best wishes. The control events only showed up when I recorded via midi from the hardware sequencer to sonar. The problem I had with these control events was, they were slowing down the timing of the music so it no longer was sounding metronomic. I really do appreciate all your help. I took great pleasure leaning on the delete key. I noticed something very odd about the controllers, they were always: controller 121, controller 64, controller 1, controller 0 and wheel controller. those 5 repeated but on the same tick for example bar 7 beat 3 tick 361, would have loads of those five controllers stacked up. They'd appear again on bar 12 beat 4 tick 721, always a 1 in the tick number, very odd. It was like Ant nests, Well the empire of the Ants didn't survive thanks to you. In your example, the only thing you'll leave checked is "Controllers"; 4 - Go to the start of the track by pressing W; 5 - If you're confident that you've only got controller 64 messages on the track, you can just lean on the Delete key until everything's gone away. If you need to be more selective about what you're deleting (for example, if you've got a mix of controller 64 and some others) you'd be best using the Interpolate dialog to do the job, rather than the method described above. Best wishes. I just seem to be missing a step when trying to delete the controllers. I've selected the track press shift F3 for filter and isolated controller 64 then pressed enter. I go back to the event view and all controller 64's are still sitting there like a load of Ants who are immune to Ant powder. How do you delete midi controllers yet keep the note events? Thanks for any help on this one.
