Thank you Phil I'll have to check that out then I hope I can afford it.
Those tracks you recorded sounded very good, but its my voice I'm concerned
about. I still find that sometimes there is a little distortion after
bouncing the track down and listening to it in smaller systems with smaller
speakers. The tracks sound okay on my computer monitors and even better on
my studio monitors. They sound great in the car, but when I play them on a
small boom box I can hear distortion on the voice. Maybe it has something to
do with how I'm EQing my voice I'm not sure, but when I have a little bit
more funds, I'll have to get the focusrite and try it out.
Thank you again for the recommendation.

May the peace of God which passes all understanding guard your heart and
mind in Christ Jesus. God bless you!

Am using the original Focusrite Octopre which, has the same pree-amps as
the TrakMaster Pro however, they don't make that any more. Recommended the
Focusrite OctoPre MkII to Jack Conti. Jack's way more qualified to talk
about that unit as I don't have one here. However, I believe that Jacks
very happy with his. Talking to Jack the other day. Hea tells me that
"it's never turned off."

Hey Phil what is the name or model of the focusrite pre-amp you have? I am
thinking about getting one. I'm not sure the audio Tampa I have is doing my
voice justice. Any recommendations?

I would switch to using ASIO drivers as they are generally the best option
at the moment for Focusrite gear. Not personally recommending this
interface as it's USB 1.1 which is not good for recording audio and
softsynthes with a high track count. Shame really as you can do a lot with
all of the hardware switches on the box E.G, turn a stereo source to mono
etc. Anyway, getting back to USB1.1, From the manual:

"Whilst Saffire 6 USB is a USB 1.1 device, the USB connection will work with
any USB 1.1 or USB 2.0 compliant connector on your computer."

Subject: [ddots-l] Focusrite safire 6 problems

Hi all, i just got my focusrite safire 6, i installed the drivers, plugged
it in and opend sonar. When i plug in a mic and get level it sounds as if
it's distorting and there's a slight delay, this happens at about -5 dB SO
I'M NOT TOO LOUD. I prosume it's a latency problem and i have no clue to fix
it, firstly in audio options at driver mode, which is best to select,
wasapi, wdm/ks, asio or mme 32 bit? Then the playback and record buffers are
set to 256, on the general tab it's set to 16 bit 44.1 KHz, buffers in
playback q is on 2 and buffer size is 5%. I would appriciate any help when
it comes to drivers, buffers and latency i'm a nobody.,
