Welll if you can, I would upgrade the firmware on all units and test again. There is a well known issue with MIDI implimentation dropping yout in early firmware. That would affect the control surface side of the unit as that's controled vea MIDI.

Using all updated drivers in Sonar 8.3.1 under Windows XP32 bit SP3 and I am able to arm tracks by holding down the select key then, pressing the arm button. Then, I just hit record on the transport controls and it all works fine here. Also, the latest driver update wasn't to the control surface so, that shouldn't have broken anything. Are all units in question running the latest firmware?Regards, Phil Muir Accessibility Training Telephone: US (615) 713-2021 UK+44-1747-821-794 Mobile: UK +44-7968-136-246 E-mail: info@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx URL: www.accessibilitytraining.co.uk/----- Original Message ----- From: "HF" <hermanfermin@xxxxxxxxx>To: <ddots-l@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Sunday, September 13, 2009 7:15 PM Subject: [ddots-l] native or Mackie emulationWas wondering on this. Why is native better for the FW1884 for example? Seems like the Mackie emulation has more support for things that the FW1884 can't do. Like for instance, selecting pieces of audio directly from the unit. There are already dedicated buttons for cut copy and paste, but the actual selection must be done directly from the keyboard.BTW if anyone hasn't realized it yet, Tascam seemed to break the arming feature from the unit.
