No, the vfx/sd is a totally different beast. As for Ensoniq, they merged
with eMU and have vanished. Emu still makes the zr76, their last keyboard
from Ensoniq, in a chip you can install into a proteus keyboard, but that's
it. The last great synth, imho, from Ensoniq was the TS10. The MR and ZR
series fell flat, then EMU totally ruined them. Ensoniq is know for the
Mirage, the ESQ and SQ80, the eps and asr10 samplers, the sQ1 and ks32, the
vfx, vfx/sd, sd1 and ts10 and the kt76 and 88. They also put out the phismo
and asr-x as well and that, sadly, was the end. What a loss, too.

I think the mirage is made by Ensoniq. They are an American company, and a
very long time ago I used to have one. I haven't heard anything of Ensoniq
since the early nineties. they may have a website, if it will help I could
post you the brail manual for the VFX-sd but it may not be aplicable. best
of luck.

Hi,

I am knew to this list. My name is Steve and I live in Toronto, Canada.

I have a Mirage keyboard, a D 1-10 128-sound module (forget who makes it) an
Alesis MMT-8 sequencer and an M.D.F-1 disk drive from Yamaha.

I realize it is nothing like what Sonar might do. I was wondering if anyone
is familiar with the keyboard or may know where I might be able to get a
manual.

I used the setup about 13 years ago and don't remember how to get the Mirage
to drive the sound module or sequencer. I thought there was a parameter
that needed to be turned on but can't be sure.

I am pretty sure I have the midi cables hooked up correctly. Can anyone
shed some light?

Thanks.
