Subject: NFADB Welcomes Cyral Miller as Special Advisor to the Board
Reply-To: "Patti McGowan" <patti@xxxxxxxxx>
Dear NFADB Members,
The NFADB Board of Directors, is pleased to announce to our membership, that
NFADB has a new Special Advisor. Cyral Miller will be joining Megan Cote
and Peggy Malloy effective immediately in the role of NFADB Special Advisor.
NFADB is delighted to have Cyral join NFADB as a Special Advisor and look
forward to working with her.
Cyral lives in Austin, Texas where she is a TVI and mother of two adult
children. She is the former Director of the Texas DeafBlind Project
(1990-2018) and is currently working part-time as a VI Outreach Teacher with
the Texas School for the Blind and Visually Impaired (TSBVI) Outreach
Programs. Cyral attended the University of Texas at Austin where she
received her TVI certification coursework. Her first teaching job was an
itinerant TVI in San Antonio and then taught in a VI elementary resource room
in Austin ISD. Cyral took a few years off, getting a master’s in public
affairs, a year of wandering to England, a stint working for the City of
Austin, and soon back in the VI field as an assistant to the TBBVI
Superintendent and then became Outreach Director, which included supervising
the Texas DeafBlind Project.
As Cyral accepted the position of NFADB Special Advisor, she said: I am
thrilled to have a chance to work closely with the NFADB Board, who are
innovators and advocates pare excellence!
We look forward to Cyral joining the team of NFADB Special Advisors that
offers great guidance, mentorship, and support to the NFADB Board of
Directors on behalf of their membership.
