Subject: [dbaust] accepted to the Leaders for Tommorrow National Program

Hi

I am passionate improving lives for people with disabilities. I have been
actively involved on the
Victorian Deaf blind Advocacy Group (VDBAG) on a voluntary basis for 6 years,
shortly, after I was
diagnosed with the devastating news of retinitis pigmentos vision loss. I also
have a hearing loss
from meningitis at young age. I had a fortunate upbringing and privileged to
have support
throughout my life journey. According many people I know including my father
Fred Ryall stated
"Trudy has so many friends from all walks of life, always has a positive
attitude and has a great
determination to achieve things in life."

I recognised that the deaf blind community are often overlooked and isolated
and stood my ground to
do something about this. VDBAG along with my two dearest deaf blind friends
Heather Lawson and
Michelle Stevens recently received a government grant to provide training to
the deaf blind
community to become stronger advocates for them selves and raise awareness
about current issues
faced from the deafblind community. I love this quote Helen Keller wrote
"Alone we can do so
little; together we can do so much."

I feel greatly honored that I been been accepted for the Leaders for Tomorrow
national program which
will provide up to 12 months of
leadership support to 200 people with disability to 30 June 2014 with TAFE NSW
Hunter Institute.

For further information: <http://www.leadersfortomorrow.com.au/>
http://www.leadersfortomorrow.com.au The Leaders for Tomorrow program is an
individual leadership
program which is committed to developing 200 people with disability to be more
skilled, confident
and active in leadership roles in business, community or government. Through
mentoring and
leadership development opportunities, Leaders for Tomorrow participants will
become better equipped
to contribute as leaders in Australia's future.

I begin the program next week of 18th June 2012. It is a retreat for 2 days
then I am put with a
facilitator for on going training. I can still work and study at the same time.

This news can be circulated widely as I am trying to raise a profile for the
deaf blind community.
