Dear Everybody: I bring my short comment on What "Good Friday" means to you. Isaiah Chapter 53; Verses 4 and 5: 4 Surely he took up our infirmities and carried our sorrow, yet we considered him stricken by God, smitten by him and afflicted. 5 But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed. (NIV) Our infirmities (weakness, helpless, any sickness) Our sorrows (grief, misery, lonely, unhappiness) Our transgressions (broke God's law, person's own way as reject God's law/words.) Our iniquities (injustice, immorality, evil behaviour) When Jesus entered Jerusalem to die on the Cross, His soul, mind and physical body became infirmity, sorrow and, of special significance, Jesus became sin (transgression and iniquity) so that on the cross He carried OUR SINS ! Isaiah Chapter 53 tells of Jesus' deepest various pains of hate, betrayal, forsaking and abandonment, insults, rejection, hurts, mocking, persecution, cruel talk, etc. all from evil people, including you and me. When people come to a place of acceptance of repentance toward God they can be healed. Whosoever accepts/believes in Jesus, He gives any person peace and healing after forgiveness of sins when any person turns to Jesus !
