There is no difference. The protocol is the same. The only difference
is that on Select and above there is an additional component that uses
the protocol. Anyone could write a ClipboardHolder module for RO5, so
this is not an OS issue.

As long as your application supports the protocol correctly, you
should not need to worry about the fact whether a module implementing
clipboard holder functionality is present. In fact, your application
cannot even detect whether such a module is present, all it sees are
ordinary clipboard messages that could just as well come from any
other application.

The current version of OP does not implement the protocol correctly,
which means that legitimate use of the protocol, such as by the
ClipboardHolder module in Select and above, can disrupt core
functionality of OP. It should be fairly trivial to revert to the
Jun-06 behaviour, which does not suffer from this problem.

If not, I think I have a few spare I can lend to you. For instance,
ArtWorks jumped from 2.75 to 2.80, so I have at least 2.78 and 2.79
lying around unused somewhere, which would be useful for OP. ;-)
